Pot

A bold orange pot with green highlights that is in the traditional cup noodle design. There is a bold claim on the pot that this will leave me fuller for longer as it contains 15g Protein. The pot is made up of a cardboard sleeve around a plastic container, sealed by a plastic lid.

While I am happy to see that I can recycle the cardboard, it does seem pointless to have the plastic container underneath this sleeve. I would also prefer a foil lid or something else that can be recycled.

What’s Inside and how to prepare

As you pull back the lid you will only see that its a simple affair, with just the intended contents, making your preparation even easier.

As you can see the contents are simple just some powder and macaroni, not the most appetising of food to look at, so I hope it tastes better than it looks.
One little bonus was the water fill line being inside the cup as opposed to being outside, so making it easier to judge you have poured in the correct amount of Boiling water.

Taste

After leaving the pasta to stand for the required time peeling back the lid saw me staring at a congealed mess. So after a quick stir it soon started to look like something resembling macaroni cheese

Firstly the majority of the pasta tasted pretty good, but a few bits were crunchy where they had not cooked as were above the congealed sauce, so didn’t get in contact with the water. The sauce also tasted like a Macaroni cheese, but it was like eating a Macaroni cheese on the beach after your two year old daughter had emptied a bucket of sand in the sauce! The grainy sauce was off putting but the taste was just about making up for this strange texture that you have to endure.
The claim on the side of the packet saying this make you feel fuller for longer was a bold one, but I would agree with it as didn’t feel hungry for the rest of the day and considering at how cheap this pot snack was, provided excellent value for money if sustenance was my only concern.

While it tasted like it should, the texture has let this down, unless you like grainy sauces. However it is extremely cheap and was filling.
